A number of successful business models, Internet and otherwise, have made effective use of ratings systems, wherein a customer rates products he's purchased and is recommended other products which rate highly among customers with similar tastes and interests. Occasionally flawed but often helpful, the ratings system provides consumers with an invaluable resource for making educated purchases.
